Thread: FCM bumpstops/shock mounts

    Default FCM bumpstops/shock mounts

Is this a good way to go? Looks like a hell of a deal since it comes with dust boots and everything. Also lots of praise for FCM on the board - but I can't find any specific recommendations that would apply to a AGX/S-Tech setup. Left the guy a message yesterday but haven't heard back yet. Next question is, 54mm or 46mm bumpstops, or should I mix & match front & back?

Mad Monkey, isn't this the setup you've got?

Warning.. As I understand it, the NB shock mounts lower the car an inch or so. If you combine these with a lowering spring, you might be too low. When I inquired about these for use with my old style FM springs, he told me it would be too low unless I added spacers. I believe the new style FM springs are not as low so they work better with the NB mounts. Not sure about the height of the S-Tech.

new FM's on Billies, with FCM 46's and NB tops.

    11.5 front
    12.0 rear

FM does not recommend NB tops with their springs.
They would rather you cut a coil and use NA tops. (per Keith)
The way I see it, cut coil loose an inch of travel or NB and keep full travel.

I like the greater spring rate of FM's

NB tops all around or just in the rear?

OK... talked to the Fat Cat guy and he said I should be fine with just the bumpstops. I went ahead and ordered the 46mm bumps with boots.
