Thread: Window tint

    Default Window tint

Where's a good place in the Grapevine (or thereabouts) area to get my Integra windows retinted? The top halves of both side windows are so bubbly I can barely see out of them at all.

I don't think I'd want to tackle it myself

Also... would it be a good idea to find a new windshield in a junkyard? Any trustworthy places to install one around here? I have a crack going across 60% of it and I got a new big crack in it from a truck near Lubbock yesterday

EDIT: Happy 2,000 posts to me!!!

As far as the windshield, I would check around at several different glass shops, as the price will vary greatly.

For the tint, Take the old stuff off yourself, otherwise those guys will charge you a boat load to do it for you. A razor scraper and some windex with ammonia is usually all it takes to get the residue off. If the windex doesn't cut it, get a bottle of acetone.

I figured as much... I tried to get it done on my old Supra and they charged an arm and a leg.

Luckily, the hatch was already taken care of a year or two ago and it's in good shape, so all I need is the side windows.

I've got a guy that I've had really good luck with - he's very reasonable and will come out to you. Lemme know if you want the number.

Last time I had to get tint peeled off I went up to a place on the corner of Preston & Campbell - they charged me $50 to clean up the back window of a T-Bird I was trying to sell. Worth the money to keep me from having to screw with it, IMO. I've done it myself and it's a complete PITA.

for windshield replacement on a 2001 Civic, I used a guy named Mike in Euless

he came to my house and did a great job at a fair price

I priced at the major chains, and he was cheaper

    Tim the Tintman - 817-480-TINT ( 8468 )

He's based in NRH and has been tinting windows for almost two decades. He's done several of my cars, and several cars for other people on this board. Always great quality work, and always a better price than one of the local tint shops.
