Thread: SCCA Divisionals

    Default SCCA Divisionals

Well instead of making Jarret post for road trips, here is the divisional series and I plan on attending all of them.

April 18-20 - Baton Rouge LA CenLa Region SCCA

June TBA - TBA Lone Star Region/Texas Spokes

July 18-20 - Houston TX Houston Region SCCA

Aug 22-24 - Ft Worth TX Texas Region SCCA

Look for the new Southwest Solo web page in the coming weeks. In it, you will find announcements, info, links, sponsors and chatter!!!!!!!!!!

Ok found the divisional dates, I plan to attend all 4. Who is with me?
I learned this the hard way.....

Take all of your valuables out of your car at night. This includes taking the mounting hardware off of your windshield or dash and hiding the power supplies. I lost over $ 1,000 to a thief with no hope of recovering my items and to top if off they smashed my window in the rain and my truck got soaked. Let my loss be your learning experience.

The drive to Baton Rouge is going to suck, but I still plan on going.

    The rest, too.

The TBA one is supposed to be at the A&M site.

I am planning to attend all four. What's a little 10 hour drive?
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Texas Region has a July 20 event at TMS - will they change that date now that there's a SWDIV event?

    What is the rain rule?

TX A&M does not allow races in the rain on that location. They are able to get away with it if there are no puddles and they have changed course designs in the past in order to avoid puddles, but it really limits the event and would not work too well for a Divisional event.

I'm down for three of the four - I might even talk myself into the Baton Rouge event, but dayem - that's a long drive...

It's looking like I'm gonna be in my RX-8 that event...or something non Viper.

Probably save a little on gas if you drove the viper down there instead of the RX-8

The RX-8 does make my GT Mustang look like a hybrid...but the Viper uses 2 gallons of gas per run on a Natonal type course!

I'll be towing whatever I drive down there anyway...which means I gotta buy diesel! Fun Fun!

Did you get those wheels from your last car to fit the RX-8?

Don't see why they wouldn't work - both cars share the same bolt pattern, similar offsets and widths. In fact, to bring up the proper package options on Edge Racing's website for the 17x9 FN01R-Cs that I bought, I had to put in the car as a 2005 Mustang GT. It wouldn't offer anything wider than 8.5 for an RX-8.

The only thing I was thinking about is a difference in center bore.

Yeah they fit like they were made for it! They look really cool in the rear but a little odd in the front! Thanks for the help guys!

Plus now I have stock wheels to put A6's on!

I know all the RX-8 guys at one time were trying 285's did that work or were the 245's better? I've also heard you guys were putting a pretty big front bar on...
