I got into my car this morning and my car wouldn't shift into gear. The clutch petal is really soft too.Whats wrong?

Probably a bad slave cylinder. Very common issue and not a big deal.

I replaced one on my 94m and at about the same time had to do the 91 as well. Reasonably easy job and parts aren't all that expensive either.

It could be the clutch master cylinder too. It could be either or. Check the fluid, If it is low, look and see if the slave cylinder is leaking.
I would replace the slave first. And bleed it. If it still leaks pressure down it is the clutch master cylinder,
It is easy to replace too.
I think oreiliys sells the both for $120??.They are like $60 a piece. There are some ebay shops that are cheaper than that. I just didn't want to wait when I needed one.
You do have to bleed them like brakes.

Put a speed bleeder on the slave cylinder and it becomes a 1 person operation to bleed the clutch.

This is exactly what I did. Replaced the slave (which was leaking and needed replacement) and then found out the master needed replacement too.

I live in SW Arlington and was checking to see if I could get a referral for someone to work on my car. Since I can't drive the car I will have to tow it to thier shop or they can do the work at my house. Thanks.

+1... a clutch slave cylinder is only about an hour-long job, not a 14-hour job (like a full clutch can be)...

What's the latest? Did you find a fixer?
