The committee would like to propose the following alternatives for member comment. The effective date would be 1/1/2010.
    o Option 1: (Split CS to ES/BS)
    1. Move the current CS to ES (except for the MX5 ‘06+ and Solstice)
    2. Move the current BS to CS
    3. Move the current AS to BS
    4. Move the current SS to AS
    5. Move the following to SS:
    􀂃 Lotus Elise SC
    􀂃 Lotus Exige S (all)
    􀂃 911 Turbo (996)
    􀂃 2008 Viper
    6. And if/when new/secondary market pricing and/or tire availability is appropriate the following would be considered:
    􀂃 997 GT3
    􀂃 Audi R8
SCCA Fastrack News August 2008 Page 13
    􀂃 996 GT2
    􀂃 Corvette ZR1
    􀂃 Nissan GT-R
    􀂃 Nissan GT-R Spec V
    􀂃 Lotus Eagle

    o Option 2: (CS/BS Merger)
    1. Move the current BS to CS
    2. Move the current AS to BS
    3. Move the current SS to AS
    4. Move the following to SS:
    􀂃 Lotus Elise SC
    􀂃 Lotus Exige S (all)
    􀂃 911 Turbo (996)
    􀂃 2008 Viper

Looks like POS's car may get nationally competitive again. Perhaps Thomas could co-drive it so it can bring home the gold!

Rumor has it the POSIII will have a different owner by the start of the 2010 season and I will be campaigning the POS-IV.

Looks like I should have bought Sammm's car in order to stay competitive.

Wow... sounds like you and Sammmy are picking the perfect time to dump the 99 sports.

If they go with option #1 the '99 Sport would be the car to have in ES.

Looks like either way the MX-5 MSR and Sol/Sky are going to get buried by the RX-8.

The Lotus would be AS and the s/c lotus would be SS.

I would rather have a class between the current SS and AS than a class above SS

Yep, I like playing in the highest stock class There are quite a few tweener cars that are between AS and SS that might be fun to see compete. But alas all the guys with the high dollar machines want somewhere to play too. It'd be interesting to see something like an Audi R8 in SCCA.

The way your boasting, you appear to have a pile of money to spend on a "high dollar machine" in order to "[play] in the highest stock class," so why don't you buy an R8 so we can all enjoy watching it?

You know how many piloti shoes he would have to make to get an R8!

I never said I could buy a R8. Actually I would probably buy the cheapest (except the C5/C5Z06) but competitive car for that class just like I did for the current SS and oogle the GT3RS, Gallardo etc. A used s/c Elise or 07 Exige S is well within reach and especially by 2010.

Guess we will be able to find cheap MX-5 06+ on the market soon.....not sure that I would be too happy about the changes myself.

I learned this the hard way.....

Take all of your valuables out of your car at night. This includes taking the mounting hardware off of your windshield or dash and hiding the power supplies. I lost over $ 1,000 to a thief with no hope of recovering my items and to top if off they smashed my window in the rain and my truck got soaked. Let my loss be your learning experience.
