Very clean example of a '93 R1. Yes, I have a sickness. I still want another one of these damn cars.

Saw that car a while back, I think it was on SCCAforums? Very nice and seems to be well sorted. The price is kind of nuts for a car that old though. It's amazing what you can buy for 20K these days.

I love those cars, but I'd have to put a V8 in it for reliability. They're beautiful!

I wouldn't be surprised if 5 years from now there were more V8 conversion FDs on the road than rotary FDs.

If you follow the link to the thread on RX7Forums, he's down to $16,500.

Personally, I don't think the price is that far out of line for this particular car. I paid $15k for a '93 Base (not an R1) with 50k miles that was in worse shape almost eight years ago. They aren't making any more, and finding a good, unmolested, low mileage version of an R model is getting harder by the day.

The FD will be a collector's car. I think this is the kind of car you could buy today, drive for 10-15k miles over the next four or five years, and sell for more than you paid for it. You can't say that about too many other sub-$20k cars.

    Lets see...

    • Buy for $15,000
    • Drive 2000 miles
    • Spend $2000 on repairs

    • Sell for $16,000.

Sounds like a deal to me.
