    Default Good headphones for music....

Well my Sennheiser (HDR65) finally after 4 years of daily use took a dump today. Besides Sennheisers what other manufacture do you guys recommend?
Hmm what is decent? Are we talking about your decent or my decent? I'm just curious because I don't want to offend anyone else's decent...

Ugly, but good. Even the bottom of the line SR-60 sounds great.

I have been real happy with my SHURE Ear buds.

I have the E3E which is an older mid level model and have used it for a couple of years, but not on a daily basis. They fit perfectly and sound beter than any headset I have ever tried.

The Sony over the ear Studio Monitors, the MDR-V700's are my current favorite... not exactly small, but good for sitting at your desk.

I used to have an ancient pair of Koss headphones (circa 1970-ish) - they were even avacado green. They finally blew out, but they sounded great until the day they died.

But, come to think of it, I'm not sure they make anything worth a damn these days... kinda like Altec Lansing...

I used these at home, all parts can be replaced when something breaks (if it breaks)

I don't think that I'd like to wear ear buds most of the day.

Billy, how tight are the Sennheisers that you mentioned around the ear/head. For me at least, they can become uncomfortable.

That's what I thought at first. These are not your typical ear buds and do block out all of the extraneous noise. The headphones I have used actually cause me more discomfort.

On this line of thought, anybody know of some good behind-the-neck or over-ear headphones for iPod use?

Earbuds just don't work for me... I was designed weird

I prefer cheap with decent quality... nothing extreme (used for workout, etc). $30ish?

Another vote for ear buds. I have some nice JVC ones. You compress the 'foam' on the buds and then they expand in your ear...like good ear plugs do. Very comfortable for long periods of time and nothing strapped across the top of your head.

I listen to my Ipod while cutting the grass and it really works on blocking out the lawn mower noise.

The Sennheisers are extremely comforrtable, they expand and are well padded the sound is true for mixing, so what you hear is what came out of the studio.
some people complained about there being too little Bass but I find them more acturate than my Yamaha HS50 studio monitors but not by much.
    Hope this helps.

If your looking for earbud style check out Skull candies. I use them on the bike and they have great sound and are comfortable. The best thing is they only run about $20.
