Thread: Wheel Options

    Default Wheel Options

OK, I am trying to figure out what I should do.

    This is my situation:

I have bronze GramLights 57C 17X7.5 4X100 40offset wheels on the car currently.

    I can get gold Gramlights 57C 17X8.5 4X114.3 40offset wheels for under $400.

I have 2.5" fender flares and am gonna be running at least a 25mm spacer on the wheels I already have, with 245-35-17 tires.

I can get 4-100 to 4-114.3 adapters that are 25mm thick.

Should I get the new wheels and sell what I have??

Should I just wait since the tires I have work perfectly on the 7.5" wheels I have and just widen them later and then get the wider tires?

I don't know, but if you can get a set of 5x114.3 17"x8.5" Gram lights in any color for that price, let me know. I'd be interested in a spare set of track wheels.

    Default Rays Clearance Wheels

These are the 5X114.3 wheels available in 4 or more wheels. Price is PER WHEEL. These are at MY COST, and will still have to cover shipping. So if you are interested, send me a PM and I'll check if they are still available, and then I have to require 100% deposit to get them. They are all in the US warehouse in Cali, so no long wait time for shipping. I'm selling at cost, just helping Rays and everyone here get together with their wheels.

They weigh about the same, I think the 8.5" ones are 17.2 lbs, whereas the 7.5 are 17lbs.

With 2.5" flares you could probably go a bit wider than 245 (as long as there is room on the inside with an 8.5" wide/+15 offset setup....you may have trouble at full lock in the front.)

An 8" wide wheel at +20 offset with a 215 tire looks like this:

    That's a 16" wheel.

An 8.5" wide wheel with +15 offset will only stick out .5" more than that. But the wider tires should make up the difference to fill out the 2.5" flares.

Well, I am looking at going 255-265 front and 275-295 rears. But I got some 245-35-17 Eagle F1s for $440 shipped, so I took them.

I really like the Rota Slips, too. Was soo close to getting them, but then they ran out of the 20offset. The 17s allow for alot wider tire selections, so I went 17s.

Also, NBs seem to handle wider tires better than a NA. Had a guy with a MSM here last week with 235/40/17 front and 255/40/17 rears on the stock MSN wheels. Had some rubbing in the back, but they fit with no rolling (accordign to the owner). I had to roll the front and rears just to fit the 235/40/17s.

Those look great. I have the same, black slips, but they are only 15*6.5. More pics?
