    No they're not. The reason he's pedaling when he is going backwards (fakie is what they call it) is to let the rear wheel continue moving. If he didn't pedal, or was pedaling forwards, the rear wheel would want to stop or rotate forwards.
    My lil bro is a pro BMXer and he talks about it all the time lol.

    To get around this problem you can buy a free coaster hub, which doesn't make the "click-click" sound. It believe these can freely spin backwards.

    I like the backward wheelies after some of the jumps, and some of the drops he took were huge too. Wow

    I just logged in for the purpose of posting that video, TC. I am going to the trails today because I watched it. Rowlett Creek Preserve, anybody? I'll be there from about 4pm until I collapse.
