Thumbs up Saturday, May 2nd - SCCA Solo Practice Event @ Mineral Wells

Just made official from our Solo RE & the Solo Crew:

Texas Region SCCA Solo will be having a No Points/No Trophy - Practice event on Saturday, May 2nd in Mineral Wells the day before regular event #3!

Entry Fee for the day will only be $15.

Registration for the practice will soon be added to the online AXware service but "walk-up" registration will be allowed too.

Registration/check-in & Tech Inspection will be at 10:00am at the site.

After the practice event is over, we will be having an "unofficial" Cookout/Picnic/Party at the site.
    - Hamburgers, Hotdogs (or whatever else crawls on the grill) & all the "fixings".

    >> Rumor has it that there might be a COLD keg of beer & possibly a cooler of margaritas that evening! <<

Notice: You don't have to enter the Practice to attend the Party afterwards! All are welcomed at the Party!!!

If you plan on attending the party after the event, please send an e-mail to [email protected] so we know how many folks to expect.

BTW - Several folks are staying at the site that evening! Camping on-site will be allowed!

Sounds fun, will it be a full course with corner workers swapping out after 30 min/1hr sessions?

Full course! Just like a regular event. Except no series points or trophies.

We'll have to see how many attend before we can say what the heat structure will be.

Runs for the practice event will be determined by how many people show.

Won't make the ER event. Still working on the new SCCA timing trailer.

Need a little feedback here guys!!

Is anyone planning to attend the practice on Saturday?

If we can't get at least 23 people to cover the cost of rental for Saturday, we need to "pull the plug" on the practice.

All we're trying to do is cover expenses for the Saturday practice.

    Thanks,

    Brad

    You'll run out of tires!

Seriously, the cap is at 50 entries & if we get no more than 23 we're talking at least 12 to 16 runs.

At these numbers we're talking about an A-B, A-B format. We'll probably shut down around 3:30 so the course for Sunday can be set-up.

There's also talk of doing a skidpad area if people want. But I figured people wanted a nice long course instead.

If it's around 15 runs I may consider. However it looks like rain for the next week or two. When is the cutoff date for your decision

I likely won't be there either. If Mineral Wells was in, say, McKinney I'd think about it, but 3 hours of drive time there and back is a killer.

You mean FTL. You'd run out of tires in 6 runs there.

    Stay out there!

There's quite a few of us that are staying at the site & having a party/cook-out.

That would be amazing. I could sleep in late, have some breakfast then just jump in the car for a 5 minute drive!

I'll baby sit for some lessons and a co-drive weekend in the evo! Actually I'd have the GF do it. She works at a Day Care and is much better with kids then me.
