Cheap Hard Top Racks

Someone asked me for pictures of my hard top racks at the Flush This GTG, but I can't remember who. Anyway, here they are.

I know you can buy them for ~$200, but I've got about $75 in both of these.

Yeah. It was one of the selling points for me on the house. I wanted a place where I could really dig into learning more about working on my cars.

It was funny -- they made us move lots three times because of the 3rd garage and they finally had to take 6" out of the house to make it fit on the lot.

And yes, I'm a neat freak.

Looks great. Did you seal the floors yourself? What product/steps did you use? Just bought 3 1/2 garages, and want to do something before I move all my junk in.

I had a guy do it, but it wasn't that bad. I think it was somethink like $1.50/sq. ft. It was about $1100 to do the whole 3-car with a 6-ft. extension. If you guys want his name, PM me. I'm pretty pleased and a couple of friends have had good experiences with him, too.

Most of the people I talked to said that the Rustoleum stuff at Home Depot comes off pretty quick -- and I think those "chips" in the floor are ugly as sin. The stuff on my floor is made by Sherwin Williams I think. It's a two-part epoxy. The installation process involves first cleaning and acid-etching the concrete then putting down two coats of the epoxy.

It holds up very well against chemicals but is easy to damage by scraping. Gotta be careful with those rolling jacks, etc. Don't drop heavy parts. Surprisingly it's holding up pretty decent against welding, too, though I'm pretty careful. (I also do all my welding in one bay so a car covers the spot.)

I'd be interested in seeing the FMII. It's something that's always interested me, but with the house and all I kinda had to put it on hold for a while.
