Don't know of a '93 black and tan that's a 'Special Edition'. That said, with a hardtop and SC I think it's a good deal if the car is mechanically sound.

+1 on everything Sammm said. It isn't an SE, but it is a nicely equipped Miata for a good price. It probably would be a bad choice for someone looking to autocross in stock class, but if these are the types of mods you see yourself doing in the future, this is a steal. The hardtop alone is worth $800-1000, and the mods he lists would cost you around $4500 (plus installation if you are not a DIY).

    What they said.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Are FI Miatas required to have AGX shocks? Anytime I see an ad for an FI Miata, I always know that the letters AGX will be present.

For many years, it was pretty standard that you would go with AGXs when you put lowering springs on. FM sold them with their springs for many years. I would bet that if you polled Miata owners with upgraded suspension, you would find more with AGX than anything else.

    Thanks for the replies guys!

Would this have the torsen rearend?

And yea, I was more thinking turbo than supercharger but I wasn't going to do it anytime soon if I did.

But the suspension is something I wanted to do also like the wheels.

I'm looking at a few lower mileage M editions- 96 and 97 mainly.

Looking at one in Austin, one in Florida, and one In St. Louis.

It will have a limited slip, but not a torsen. The 90-93 Miata came with a 6" rear that had the viscous LSD as an option. As a C Package car, the one listed should have that. In 94, Mazda switched to a 7" rear end with the torsen LSD option. the 7" (open or torsen) is much stronger, and the torsen is a better LSD than the viscous. It is very easy to swap a 7" torsen into a 90-93 car as long as you get the carrier, driveshaft, and halfshafts with it.

Not planning on taking a loan on the car, just having my dad cosign on a loan, I have money saved up so its not going to be a big loan.

Just depends on the size I can get ontop of the money I have.

Plus if I sell my car I'll have atleast 5k just for that.

Norfolk is a long way to go for a $4500 car, and very likely to have a rusty undercarriage, unless it was a garage queen. If you're thinking of getting a loan anyway, and are going to sell a $5000 car, I'd give serious consideration to Tim the Teacher's 2003 for sale here. Its double the money, but easily 3x the car, and will be a complete package with nothing to spend $$ on, plus its a local car with a known history. You couldn't do better if you built it yourself. Also, a lot newer, so easier to have your dad take out a better interest rate auto loan.
