Soon you can use your Wii remote with your Android OS on your smartphone...I fail to see the appeal...
UNLESS - they are going to use the Android OS ON the Wii...

Wii Remote support coming to Android

We talk to Wii Controller Demo developer Ryan Frawley about the future of mobile gaming.
Touch-screen interfaces and physical keyboards are all very well, but when it comes to gaming you can’t beat the feel of a proper D-pad under your thumb.

Thankfully lucky Android owners will soon be able to benefit from increased control options due to the work of industrious developer Ryan Frawley, who is currently creating on an app which will allow a Nintendo Wii Remote to communicate with any Android handset via a Bluetooth connection.
Called Wii Controller Demo, the app is currently available on the Android Market as a demonstration of what is possible rather than the finished article.

It’s far from complete – at the moment all the app does is connect the two devices and then displays a log of Wii Remote button presses on the on your Android phone’s display – but it shows the potential.
Before you start getting visions of motion-controlled gaming on the Android it’s worth pointing out that at this moment in time Frawley’s aim is to use the Wii Remote’s physical buttons as a traditional joypad interface rather than harnessing the power of the accelerometer-based hardware contained within the controller. After all, Android devices already boast such tech as standard.

Super Mario Brothers on Android, with an actual nintendo controller! That sounds pretty cool if you're bored on a long car trip or something.
