Default miata_B_racing on board ! nice to be here.

    Hello all,

first post on the site. Yes I'm a throwback from miata.net They got a little carried away so I jumped ship. Not the first time i've had run in's with moderators. Well the past is the past and we are now in the future so here is where I'll begin.
Purchased bone stock 91 in 12/2009 112 k miles. it's 5 speed w/ac rag top and cloth interior.
Since purchase it has been a work in progress. Many upgrades and still working on it.
paid $1800 for her and have since put about $1500 in the car. Just spent a whole month working
on the gates racing blue TB,WP,all hoses changed, all vacuum lines, all new brakes, God speed radiator, new drive belts, cas oring, o2 sensor, cam seals and detailed engine bay.

Looking forward to offer my assistance -and more -

thanks to sxk122 for bringing me on board.

Modern beat, Yes I'm the window guide dude, In fact are working on some now...

Seems kind of odd that people would shun such a great item. (not on hear of course)
They no longer sell the oem guides. Only the entire window at over$200 each side.
(Ouch) Many of the ebay and craigs list windows have broken or missing guides.

I decided to offer something fairly cheap in cost but very well made to the N/A Miata
family owners that they cannot get anywhere else. These are cut from virgin Teflon
to almost exact OEM specs. They will not break , deteriorate, and require no grease
or lube to slop up your windows. A pair of these babies installed and some Shin Etsu
grease (honda Dealer) on the vertical window tracks and your windows will work
like magic again. Broken or missing guides can cause the window to bind and break
the cables or damage the electric motor, regulator, or both.

This is cheap insurance and not real hard to install them. Common tools for the
inside door panels and related hardware. Remove window, Remove remaining
remnants of old guide if any. Guide bolt requires a T-30 Torx bit to remove the bolt.
After removal install new guide, reassembly, And enjoy a barley beverage....

I had just done some serious motor work on the 91 and found that homemade plate board or
washer welded on a stick idea of holding the crankshaft to be lacking extremely.

So, A search for a specific tool to do the job provided few if any results. I did purchase a tool
on ebay and it said it fit 91 miatas but did not realize at the time of purchase it was for the
SNC motor. Mine is a later build. 295390 or something close to that. So, I decided to
make my own and used a cardboard cutout to mimic the design required.

A 3/16" thick aluminum plate cut and cnc machined to fit on the hub behind the harmonic
ballancer. 4 #10 bolts and a guide pin matches TDC and triangle on oil pump body.
The plate attaches to the hinge bolt on the ac compressor mount. Pull that bolt
mount the plate over the hub (motor at TDC #1 cyl) install the 4 #10 bolts and tighten
snug. now the big mother Crankshaft bolt that requires over 100 ft lb of torque to remove
or tighten can be dealt with easily. And does not disturb timing, Stress TB or any other
components. Worked like a charm. The plate comes with 4 #10 grade 10.9 hardware
    included.

    He is, and they are.

I installed a pair recently, and my windows roll like butter now. I find myself going to torque the window crank now, only to have it spin freely.....
