What time for breakfast then? I don't mind a little earlier.

We'd have to leave Wait-A-Burger by 7 to get to MW by 7:30. Judging by last time I had b'fast there, you should arrive around 3am.

You might need to add time to your trip because the bridge in Weatherford is under construction and I20 is too!!!

I plan to be at Whataburger by 6:30.

Hey guys, I just registered for this event. I was planning to wait until a November autox to have time to get new tires, get some numbers ordered, tire pressure gauge, helmet blah blah blah.

I decided driving is better than not driving, so I'll be there with my all-season tires and without a few basic tools. I keep hearing about how nice you miata fellas are, so I'm sure someone can help me out, right? And, from what I read on the website, loaner helmets are available, correct?

This will be my first autox since about, ohhhh, 2003. I figure I just need to get out there sooner rather than later.

I look forward to meeting you all.

Yup, just show up with a working, non-leaking car and a motivated attitude and you'll be fine. The rules (attire, equip, pets, etc.) are pretty basic, but you should glance thru them real quickly, since MW is a long way to drive only to find out you couldn't wear flip flops! :) Loaner helmets are free, but you'll need a headsock (we sell for $5 or BYOH)

I'll be working registration, so let me know you're new to our club and I'll be sure you point you in the right directions.

Great event today on a long, busy and challenging course....9 runs at ~90 seconds each. Nice to meet cleave as well.

Huge thanks to Ken-O for letting me co-drive his M3. That thing is a like a Miata on steroids!!!!

Yeah, it was a fun day. I'll be back out sometime. Not next weekend though, that's for sure. It was good to meet some of you guys today.

Good to meet cleave and the course was awesome - even if Jimmy didn't like it. He won and still griped about the course. Some people!

Just enough pucker factor and plenty of technical stuff too. Except for the cones just east of the court house in Weatherford, it was the best course I was on all day!!!

Definitely a fun and challenging course. It forced you to look really far ahead. One of the "busiest" courses I've driven in awhile.

What was up with all the timing problems in the last heat?

Batteries were the root cause. We always start the day with new batteries, but the heat tends to take its toll.

Good point. I will make sure that during lunch I change the batteries on the timing lights as a precaution.

    Great day!
I learned this the hard way.....

Take all of your valuables out of your car at night. This includes taking the mounting hardware off of your windshield or dash and hiding the power supplies. I lost over $ 1,000 to a thief with no hope of recovering my items and to top if off they smashed my window in the rain and my truck got soaked. Let my loss be your learning experience.

Good to meet you as well. Thanks for chatting at the end of the day.

For a noob, I thought the course was really fun. Coming into the day I was most worried about getting used to reading the course, but I thought it was all very clear and not confusing for a new guy like me.

So a hardwired system wouldn't have that issue?

It is hardwired, but the sensors still use battery packs.
