    If the speed limit on the highway is 55 mph --you're going 80 and everybody's passing you, you may live in Texas ;

    If you find 60 degrees 'a little chilly,' you may live in Texas ;

    Lol. I grew up in Sugar Land. Can't believe how much the city has developed over the years. I remember when the mall wasn't around, and it was all fields.

    Most of you already know that Texas occupies all of the continent of North America except a small part set aside for the United States, Canada and Mexico. Fold Texas northward and Brownsville will be 120 miles into Canada. Fold it eastward and El Paso would be dunked into the Atlantic. Fold it westward and Orange would be 215 miles out into the Pacific. Fold it southward and Perryton would be dunked into the Pacific south of Mexico.

    Texas was once larger than Alaska, but with its naturally conservative inclination to keep from being conspicuous, it sold land that is now all or part of New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado and Wyoming to the U.S. when it joined the Union.

    I used to cross the border of Louisiana daily. Worked in Lake Charles and drove from Orange, TX 77630 off of I-10 exit 776. Orange is the furthest east city in the state. The border mile marker is 780.
