    Default Fuel filter replacement

How often is the fuel filter supposed to be replaced? My 90 is at 102XXX miles and it seems like it would be good to add to the to do list.

Can't hurt....get ready for gas in your arm pit.

    PS
    You'll need a fuel-line disconnect tool (maybe )

I do mine every year just before I bring it out from winter hibernation. The one year I put 40k on the car, I changed it at 30k miles (I'm used to 300zx schedules).

I just changed mine 2 weeks ago when installing the rear KYB's and RB springs. It had been a long time since it had been changed. how long ? I don't know. car has 113K miles. Cob webs and dirt, old hard fuel lines, ect. This was a 91. I purchased about 2 foot of 5/16 fuel injection type fuel line, oem type filter, new band clamps. I used a pair of needle nose plyers to squeeze off the fuel flow from the upper section of hose above the filter. slit the old hose ends at the filter and removed. Installed new hoses clamps, ect.
    All is good.

Unless mine was changed in the first 127k, it's got 244k now and I've never messed with it.

Anyone ever weighed their old filter, vs new?

HF sells nylon hose clamp pliers. Clamping the old lines before disconnecting leads to less of a mess. Remember the old filter is full of fuel though. No tipping! Doesn't work on NBs with the hard lines though. I am pretty sure the NA doesn't use fuel line connections, just rubber lines and spring clamps.

    ...and across the line.
