Thread: SCCA Annual Tech

    Default SCCA Annual Tech

MODERATOR MOMENT: I split these posts off from this thread because they were on a specific subject -- Annual Tech -- not directly related to the original topic -- SCCA Event #1. It was "my bad" for posting my idea in the wrong place to begin with...

I might be mistaken, but a link to a thread about the SCCA's cancelled Test & Tune does not answer my question about Annual Tech... unless they do them both on the same day (sorry, I didn't do it last year).

Guess I'm looking for the updated information. I mean, their Annual Tech would have to come sometime before their first event, right? And their first event is a little over 2 weeks away, right? So does anybody have any updated information?

    Default Rumor mill

Rumor since last fall has been that "annual tech" will be offered to SCCA members at every event - i.e., you'll only go through tech once during the course of the year.

That's the full extent of what I've heard.

They may be... I'm not sure, since I didn't do the "Annual Tech Thing" last year.

Anyway, I possed the question on the SCCA Mailing List (they are soooo "yesterday" when it comes to technology ), and I'll let you know what they argue out.

Last year, you could get an annual tech at the test and tune.

Hey folks, The annual tech thing will be worked out soon. And yes, John G. will return as the Tech Chief. I will get with him and post my findings, but at any rate, there is a solo board meeting on March 2nd and we can determine how many can be teched at the first event. It has been suggested that we try to utilyze some space at Pennington on the 5th, even though the T&T has had to be postponed due to election stuff going on at the school facility that day. I will see what I can do...
BTW, Tom has turned the Solo stuff over to me due to pressures at work, among other problems, so I will be handling it again, for a couple of months anyway. Hope to see all of you at the first event...

So does this make you the temporary Big Kahuna of SCCA Solo for N. Texas?

Well, it appears so at the moment,in solo anyway. A dubious honor at best considering some of the pre-season drama. Hopefully we can get the program off the ground, give everyone a minimum of 4 runs, regardless of the venue, and even do a great divisional event at Mineral Wells minus the BS from last year...
