Thread: Dunlops star specs or Hankook R-S3s?

Default Dunlops star specs or Hankook R-S3s?

It's time for new tires. Should I get the R-S3s or the star specs?

I have the R-S3s on order but I should have a little time before they ship to change my mind.

The RS3's like the heat....it will be here soon.

I agree with Sam. The Star Spec is great for a car that you also daily drive or an autocross-only tire for the Spring and Fall. But during the Summer, I think the heat will win out. The Star Spec does everything well, though. The RS3 just has that incredible grip in the heat.

RS3. Great tore, and even cheaper than the Star Spec.

Does anyone know how well the 225/45/15 RS3 works on 8" wheels compares to say a 205 Star Spec on the same wheel? Would the extra tire width offset the increase of weight and sidewall supports?

RS-3 FTW for track and autocross!!! but star specs are better for the street and does a good job for track and autocross as well...star specs will yeiald a longer treadlife, and provide better grip in the rain.

These tires will be just for autocross and getting to and back home from events. I agree with you that the star specs are a much better street and rain tire.

For the Stook, I think the RS3 is the choice.

As far as the other question raised about 205 vs 225, talk to Jerrett. He has experience with both.
