    Default Yet Another Tire Thread

It looks like my Kumho Ecsta AST tires lasted about 20k miles. I was thinking an All-Season would last longer.

I'm looking more for an all-season tire with comfort, quiet, and decent handling. These are going to be DD tires. Looking for a 195/50R15 or 205/50R15 tire with decent durability. I'm tired of having to buy tires every 15-20k miles for a daily driver.

    Recommendations?

    Default Yet another tire thread...

I'm using Dunlop Star Specs now. The next best tires I've had on my Miata were "Fuzion ZRi", I understand they are related to Bridgestone. They were probably a better DD tire than the Dunlops but I fancy myself a rising star in the novice autocross arena. The ZRi's were cheap, quiet, had decent grip dry, excellent grip wet, and wore well. What more could you ask.

For all season daily driver tires, I like the Falken 512's. I have a set on the Odyssey the Miata and the S/R.

You might also look at the Falken 912's.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

For DD's I really like my 912's. I've had them a couple of years now and the price was right when I got'em. Overall I think they're a great tire for the money.

I have Toyo Extensas on my daily and I've considered putting them on the track car for it's monthly drive to work. Nitto NeoGens will give you more grip and less life. Both of those tires are "really wide for a 205" so they look good on a 15x8.

Well I've decided as a daily driver (checker car) I want cheap, long lasting tires with a good reputation for ride, handling, and noise. I plan on getting some NT-01 for track tires.

I think I will be getting some 14" 94-97 rims and putting the Falken Ziex ZE-512 on them The 195/60/14 are $47/ea compared to $76/ea for a 205/50/15 and $72/ea or $80/ea respectively for the ZE-912. I think I will prefer the softer ride of the 60 series tires anyway. Kinda of kicking myself for trading off my hollow spokes.
