    Default FS: 2006 Mazda Tribute

My aunt and uncle want to sell their spare car - a 2006 Mazda Tribute. It's a 4-banger/automatic/FWD that's got all the usual options - power windows, keyless entry (with 2 OEM fobs), AM/FM/CD, cruise, COLD A/C, yadda yadda yadda. About 73K on the odo. It's clean and straight, no wrecks or paint as far as I know, the CarFax is good, and it's got a fresh, matching set of tires. I'm driving it today, and while it's certainly not exciting, it is comfy and it drives great - no squeaks or rattles. I thought I'd go ahead and put the feeler out there with you Mazda nuts.

$7500 sounds about right. Anybody interested?

Pix for your enjoyment... note that it also has a trailer hitch. The stinger's not in the car, so I'll see if they still have it.

Actually, a guy in my office happens to be looking at this thing's evil twin (Ford Escape). I'll be watching for a price and pics.

Wife drives a black '06 Tribute. With my lead foot I get about 22mpg around town and upwards of 30mpg on pure highway(with a tailwind and downhill) Not too bad as a daily commuter/kid hauler.

Rick, you are too late.............I just bought an 05 Tribute to replace my Ranger pick up that got totalled by hail in May.

I've been kinda feeling my ear to the ground for a 3rd car. In December my small family will be expanding +1 and the need for a 3rd car is coming up fast. I can haul my 1yr old in the Miata if I had to, but not 2 kiddos.

I'm not in the market per-se at the moment, but..hmm the gears are a turnin.

    A 29-foot cabin cruiser?

I'll find out for sure, but I think they had a bike rack for it, and they might have towed a little U-Haul when they moved one of my cousins to San Marcos. I'm waiting to hear back about the stinger and any other accessories.

Oh, and the CarFax is good, BTW.

I had a '05 Tribute with a 6 cylinder which I wish I never sold. Great SUV. Sure it doesn't have a 6? I'd be all over it.

Yep. The 4 isn't bad, though.

    Update on the trailer question:

Did not pull a trailer with the Tribute, I do have the bike rack but do NOT want to sell it. It can hold four bikes and has on many occasions.

We never had a stinger only the receiver end.
Aunt and uncle are the second owners. They bought it in '09 from a dealer (Town North, I think) where it was lease return.

Maintenance and service kept up on it? My youngest is interested.

Yep. There are some receipts at my folks' house, but they're good about keeping up with maintenance, etc. I'll grab them when I go over there and see what they've done to it.

Finally got around to putting this thing on Craigslist two days ago. Had a call within two hours (it happened to be the only call, btw), and the guy came and looked at it yesterday (he wanted to buy it for his daughter). Anyhow, he loved it, left a deposit, and came back today to pick it up for $7800 - LOL...

Go ahead and lock this one up...
