Default Houston, we have a go! (Houston National Tour, April 1-3)

    OK ladies and gentlemen...

It's time for the SCCA Houston National Tour!. lugnutjon and I talked about it this evening, and we've both decided that we're going, and we'd love to see some more MME members down there!

For those who don't know, a National Tour is a multi-day autocross, with three runs on Saturday and three on Sunday. You best times from each day are added together, and that sum is your overall time. The National Tour events are held throughout the year and around the country, attracting some of the best drivers form across the nation, and culminating in the SCCA Nationals in Topeka in September. Here's your chance to see some of the top names in the sport bring their A game.

For those who have never been to a National Tour, here's your chance - Houston puts on some of the best. Course designs by Roger "The Real" Johnson (one of the best course designers in the country), a welcome party Friday night, an after-party Saturday night at the greyhound track, and some of the best autocrossing you'll ever experience all day Saturday and Sunday. Think of it as the ultimate three-day weekend for cone-dodgers.

    Who's with me?

    Thanks for the link, General.

BTW, lugnutjon and I will be leaving the DFW area about 6am on Friday to head down for the practice sessions. If anyone wants to tag along with us, shoot me a PM.

Henry Linn, Tim Bergin, Todd Millstead, and Jeremy Foley are leaving at the same time, meeting up at the Chevron station in Corsicana... I have to be there early Friday AM to assign paddock spaces, so Wayne and I are leaving Thursday evening....

Was that discussed on the TXR list? I still apparently don't get 90% of the emails that go thorugh there.

    Dammit.

Melissa's grandfather passed away yesterday after a long illness. Instead of going to Houston tomorrow, it looks like I'll be flying to Iowa for the funeral instead.

    Y'all have fun without me.

    Sorry about your loss.

From the sound of things on the Texas SCCA eMail list, it was a very good event. I believe Lugnutjohn was the highest placing "local boy" in CS, coming in just out of the trophies.

Yeah, several members of this board could have trophied in CSP, but the C Stock folks who came from out of town kicked butt...
