Default NTAXS Autocross #6, 11/19/11, Lone Star Park

    North Texas Autocross Series (NTAXS)
Presented by the North Texas S2000 Owners Club (NTS2KOC)
    Saturday, November 19th
    Lone Star Park
    $35/driver entry fee.
    Pre-register at http://www.dlbracing.com starting November 4th.
    No on-site registration.
The event is limited to 65 drivers.

You get eight runs at NTAXS events, so you will make four runs in the AM session and four runs in the PM session, with a lunch break in between.

8 AM – 9 AM Check-in, Registration, and mandatory Tech Inspection
(You must arrive in time to check in and pass tech inspection prior to 9 AM)
8:15 AM – 9:30 AM Course open for walking
9:15 AM Novice Meeting (mandatory if new to NTAXS events)
9:30 AM Drivers Meeting (mandatory for all)
    9:45 AM First car out
(lunch break between morning and afternoon heats)

Car Classing is based on engine size:
    - Class 1/1R is for engines under 2.3 liters, except Honda S2000 and Lotus
    Elise/Exige.
    - Class 2/2R is for engines over 2.2 liters, but under 4.0 liters, plus Honda S2000.
    - Class 3/3R is for engines over 3.9 liters, plus Lotus Elise/Exige.
    - Class S2000 is only for Honda S2000 on street tires.

Rotary engine multiplies displacement by 2.0. Usage of forced induction multiplies displacement by 1.5. (This is in addition to the rotary multiplier, if applicable.) Tires with a wear rating under 140 must use the R class.

Since our Winter Autocross will be at Pennington Field in January, which has 100db sound restrictions, we will have the sound measuring equipment at this event in order for you to get an idea of your sound level. Keep in mind that the different locations will not have the same measurements (Pennington has more buildings nearby), but it is a great opportunity to see if you are well under the limit prior to the Winter Autocross.

Also the phase of the moon and the strength of the Yen vs the Euro play a huge effect.

To be clear, there is not a sound limit for this event at Lone Star Park. The sound measurements will just be for your reference.

That's a good question and I have a good answer.

Back in the day, every NTAXS event (NTS2KOC back then) used to get sold out, usually within days of registration opening. So, opening registration at any willy nilly time would be unfair. That is why they had a specific time and date when it opened so you could get in there quick to register.

Alas, we do not fill up every event, anymore, plus we have increased the max from 50 to 65, but we still like to hold on to old customs.

I can't believe there were no 1 liners in your response. You're getting soft.

    The course.

Note the instructions for getting to the lot:

From Beltline Rd, enter at most southern entry (Gates 3/4/5, Lone Star Parkway) and continue to Gate 5/Pollock Pl. Take a left on Pollock. Take a left on the next street (not parking lot entrance), go to the end, and take a right into the lot.

Looking for a co-drive for this event if anyone has an open seat. Thanks!

Still waiting on parts. ASTs should be here in the next couple of weeks, but I won't have any wheels and tires until the end of the year.

I've taken the S2k out to a TTT event and to MSR a couple of times. It's fun but it still needs a lot of work, which is why I'd rather drive someone else's car that is a bit more prepped.

Unfortunately, between five surgeries (three for me, one for Colin, and one - uninsured - for one of my dogs) and our refusal to accrue any credit card debt, my mod budget kind of took a hit this year.
