Thread: HELP!!! Clutch is going out.

Default HELP!!! Clutch is going out.

My throwout bearing has been going out for some time now, and today the clutch started making a grinding noise when engaging.

Is there some place that anyone knows of that could put one in quickly, like tomorrow? I already have all the parts (new dakin exedy clutch kit and fidanza flywheel). I would do it myself, but all my tools are at the house in Tulsa and I'm at the house in Euless.

I don't know of any place that could put one in that soon. As for the grinding noise, is it the shifter that is grinding or just a noise that the trans makes? Is your slave cylinder leaking?

The stock flywheel was just going to sit collecting dust, but you are welcome to it.

I grabbed most of my tools when I was in Tulsa over the weekend, but I won't have any place to do the swap myself until at least May. I never thought that it would be difficult to find a place that would install a customer sourced clutch and flywheel, either. Any suggestions?

I've been trying, but no call back yet. Just left another VM.

He is your best choice, unless you just want to go to a chain transmission shop and drain your wallet!

Don't forget he has a 'real' job. He does Miata stuff on the side.

Tell me about it. The cheapest I've been quoted so far is Kinney's in Hurst @ $430.
