Thread: NC tire recommendation.

  1. #1

    Default NC tire recommendation.

I saw an earlier post but don’t seem to be able and find it now but I need to replace the tires on my 2009.
Any recommendations for good handling street all weather tires.
    Discount or other?
    TIA.

I just bought a set of these when Hankook had an $80 rebate. Very happy with them so far!

I'm on my second set of V12's, and have been very pleased with them, even without factoring in how affordable they are. They handle wet conditions nearly as well as an all-season, are fine in the cold, are not too loud and are fairly comfy for a performance tire. I don't autox or track mine, but I know several people who have and they were capable tires.

I also like the Yokohama S-Drive a lot, and it is a similar tire, but more expensive. Don't bother upsizing by more than +1 unless you are getting wider wheels.

I just replaced my tires. Todd E., our race tire guy at Discount Tire (972)377.8242, got me another set of Continental Extreme Contact DW. Ran these on my 2003--loved them.
The pictured tires are 215-45/17. This tire in a 215 on OEM rims improves the looks and the ride immensely and is virtually noiseless. Todd matches Tire Rack so at about $120 each, I consider this tire to be grossly underpriced.

Yes, the Conti DW is a terrific tire, and is even a good autox tire. Probably THE tire to have for wet autox, bar none. (street tires)

Didn't realize they were that affordable in smaller sizes.
