Default Miata Focus Day at the Ranch April 23

OK boys and girls, here are the two dates we have setup so far for the
infamous Miata Focus Day at the Ranch. This is on a Saturday and will
be the same as previous events including lead and follows, classroom
time and two 30 minute track sessions. All together it is about 90
minutes of total track time when you include the lead and follows.

Maximum attendees will be 24! There will be two groups, the fast group
and the faster group. We will try to have someone available to help
those who need a little more track assistance, meaning a teacher.
Cost is $100 and needs to be paid in advance, as you can start sending
checks today. Entry will be determined by receiving your check. Make check out to:

    Track Dog Racing
    11010 Switzer Ave. Suite 107
    Dallas, TX 75238
    469-916-3200

Those of you with no track experience are welcome. The good thing
about a Focus Day is if it rains and we do not drive on the track, we
can reschedule for another day. However, your entry fee is NOT
REFUNDABLE. If you cannot attend, you may sell your seat, that is the
best we can do since we must pay for the track use. We will not float
your entry fee to the next Focus Day other than a Rain Out, don't ask.

Rules are the same, roll bar preferred, but not necessary. If no roll
bar you must run with your top up. Minimum clothing is long sleeve shirt,
long pants and helmet. If you have a driving suit, bring it. You need to have good tires and brake pads.

Your car will be tech'd at the track and if not up to spec you will
not be allowed on the track. Keeps this in mine. You will need to be
there no later than 12:00 at the Ranch. The track day will last all
day and will be over usually around 6:30. We will go for dinner
afterwards if anyone wants to attend. If from out of town there are
    plenty of hotels in Granbury.

Rules at the Ranch have changed for us members as far as bring guest,
one guest per month now (actually old rule, now enforced). For that
matter we might do a Focus Day maybe every other month. What is you
thoughts? Could you attend every two months? Maybe do one in June
and August (yes it could be hot)?

Entry fee as it is received determines eligibility. If we receive your
check after the 24 spots are filled, we will return your check. We
will post those who will be attending as we receive them. To get the
amount of attendees we will require, this event will be opened to
other car clubs, but Miata only!

Any questions post or you can call me at 469-916-3200?

Justin I would like to ride shotgun for part of a session. I wish I had all the kinks worked out so I could make it.

I hand delivered my check this evening. Sounds like Vivid may have sent that check by Pony Express...

She said she mailed it out on Thursday, must have went out with Fridays Mail. Hopefully Gary will have it by Monday!

Anyone else sign up for this fun filled event?

Nope... Loogie is now a daily driver... No more racing for her.

I have to wait until I get my racer. I already have some money set aside and have my eyes peeled for one.

I plan to run our 2002 Miata, going to let the POS Racer sit this one out. Need to get it some cool tires like Tailchaser!

I have sort of been holding out, since I also want to autoX the next day, and also, I could work Sat night if I didnt go. But I think I am going to drop the check in tonight, especially since there are so few people going.

I can't believe Gary is having trouble finding 24 people for this event!

At $100 a pop this is money well spent for the amount of seat time you get.

    Lets do a comparison....

$100 = 5 AutoX days with about (3) 60 sec runs. So 15 minutes of seat time.

$100 = 1 half day at MSR with about 1 1/2 hours of seat time!

You don't need to be a math wiz to see the better deal. Plus, consider all the extra weekends you'll have free!

Sure, no glass mug at the end of it but who cares? I know some off y'all have extra expenses but $100 isn't too hard to come up with. Sell some crap on eBay, brown bag your lunch for a month or cash in that life insurance!

This is the best deal in town for some killer track experience!

Yep I'm forced to agree with Sammm on this one. :P

Not real sure why more folks haven't signed up for this event. But it you ever wanted to do a track day this would be your golden opportunity!

I have my racer, but won't have time to get it ready before the event... I'm in sunny San Jose this week and travelling 3/5 days a week for the next 4 weeks for work...

    Makes for a fun life...

Take the street car. MSR is a very safe controlled environment.

    (Be quiet Iain!) :P

Been there 5 times, no harm, lots of fun!
