As promised, it was a fantastic event for this track virgin. Thanks black roadster, jcanadian, trickyrix, and gabkwong for letting me tag along in their caravan.

I wasn't expecting to be driving on Friday but was allowed to because I was there, I guess. My apologies to those who drove on Friday and was annoyed by me while I was trying to learn the track.

Thanks to instruction from Ren on Friday as well as jonwag and SirHustlerEsq on Saturday morning, I managed a 1:40.743 during my 5th session:

I just realized I went almost 3 seconds under the TTD class record last weekend and still have room for Hoosiers that will give me at least 2 seconds, maybe three.

The TTD track record at Hallett is 1:30.463. Did you run a mid 1:27 last weekend? If so, good job.

FWIW, another three seconds would put you a second ahead of ken o's current TTB track record and even with Fair!'s current TT3 track record, both set on A6s, both in cars with faaaaaaar better power/weight ratios and a lot more tire than you can fit under a Miata.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that a naturally aspirated Miata is going to have a very hard time hitting a sub 1:26 at Hallett.

29.1. John helped me find another half second at the end of the day I I still have room for Hoosiers so that's another 2 seconds to drop next time out. 29 is unacceptably slow for my car. The car felt like it was flying, but apparently not. One day I'm going to try running on a tire less than 2-years old. I turned a 29.3 on RS-3 with a passenger in the last session of the day.

TWS is this weekend, hopefully I can get under the 2 second mark or there will be some soul searching.
