Default Timing Belt Kit NB W/VVT

So over the holiday break (if I can get my hands on the car long enough) I want to replace the timing belt on Vivid which is our 2002 LS.

Where are you cool kids buying your timing belt kits these days??

Prices have moved up on these guys a touch over the past few years. Plus I'd have to make sure I selected all the proper bits and pieces.

    I did find this - http://parts.arlingtonmazda.com/prod...MK0017%29.html

Althougt it looks like some of those parts are not OEM "Bando" brand belts??

At that price, I'm going to say most if not all of those parts are not OEM.

That's not necessarily a bad thing if you know who makes them.

We use Gates water pumps, timing belt kits and drive belts but we use Mazda OEM cam and crank seals and valve cover gaskets because we see a difference versus other brands. Since we use these in our service and we need to stand behind the parts, we make sure to use stuff we are confident in. We rarely replace the water neck o-ring as they don't ever seem to leak. If we do remove it we use some RTV silicone on it and never had one leak.

Our kit comes out to $229.00 but we are using quality Gates and Mazda parts. Not Bando or unknown other brands.

I could meet or beat that price if I used all the cheapest parts I could find.

I got mine from Track Dog, I like supporting vendors that support Miatas@Hallett. I did all the water hoses at the same time, since the radiator and coolant were out. (Yes even the PITA Oil Cooler hoses)

About 5-6 hours. We can do it in a day.
