Thread: 4/24/05 autox - PCA at Mineral Wells or SCCA at Pennington?

    Default 4/24/05 autox - PCA at Mineral Wells or SCCA at Pennington?

    Jeez, it feels like it's been months since I've been behind the wheel...

    There are two autocrosses coming up this weekend. Texas Region SCCA is having their 2nd event of 2005 at Pennington Field, and the Maverick Region Porsche Club is having their 2nd autocross of '05 at Mineral Wells.

    I am going to be at one of these... I just haven't decided which one yet. Honestly, I'm leaning towards eight long runs with the Porsche Club at Mineral Wells versus four short runs with Texas Region at Pennington Field.

    Who's going where? I know a lot of us will be at MSR on Saturday - are the "usual suspects" who are going to the track still planning on autoxing Sunday? PCA or SCCA?

    If I have any energy left when I get home Saturday night, I'll do my PCA traditional 9:00 pm pre-registration and plan on seeing you out there Sunday. Maybe you'll have better luck against those Scooby's and Evos than I do...

    I'm thinking about PCA, but haven't run it by the boss yet
    '08 Copper Red GT PRHT, '06 Accord EXL, '05 Dodge Magnum R/T, '01 V8 Dakota for pulling 2135 Chaparral.

    I'm thinking MSR on Saturday may be enough for the weekend, but then again a trip to Pennington on Sunday could be fun!

    Yeah, and I'll be at Pennington both Sat. and Sun. Originally scheduled to work in Indiana, but that was cancelled. Matt Lucas (ES MR2 driver) is heading up both events at Pennington this weekend, and I will be there for support only...I may bring my new, old CRX Si out Saturday and see how it handles in stock form before beginning the STS 2 transition...

    You could always just go out stock, the miata is very capable without modifications.

    Well, I've registered for the Porsche Club Event in Mineral Wells in Sunday. Pennington Field just doesn't suit my needs.
