  1. #1

    Default Batman Begins Get Together?

"For Christopher Nolan to turn Batman Begins into such a smart, gritty, brooding, visceral experience is astonishing."

The reviews are in, and they look good.

Batman Begins opens on Wednesday, June 15. Please respond appropriately above if you're interested in a little MME socialization to celebrate the release.

    Proposal:

Dinner at California Pizza Kitchen in Grapevine.

Followed by an 8:30p showing of Batman Begins at Tinseltown Grapevine.

I'll be one my way to Colorado with one wife, two dogs, two mountain bikes and one severely overladen Honda Accord...

As horribly cheesy as the effects and acting were in the others, I'm waiting for it to come out on video.

Michael Keaton was the only one who captured the dark side of the Batman character as well as it was written in the comics... but the others were horrible...

You need an "its up to my wife" in the poll.

Id be in, but its up to my wife.

Im really looking foward to seeing this though. Christian Bale kicked holy ass in Eqlibrium, I think(I hope) he'll be a good Batman. Plus I hear this ones directed by (cant remember his name), the guy that directed Memento

I agree, Michael Keaton was awesome, the others sucked. But Arnold Schwartsenegger...now that was some classy actin'

    You are all insane.

This is a completely different take on the Batman franchise. It was directed by Christopher "Memento" Nolan, fer cryin' out loud.

I have hated every Batman since the first, but I'm pretty psyched about this one. It should take the franchise back to its dark roots.

    Or, as one reviewer said:

"In a year when the franchise watchword is ‘dark’, this delivers the full noir with a side order of dementia."

    Or another:

"this psychologistic epic favors dialogue over action, relationships over rousing set pieces, characterization over visuals. "

    Or:

"... the best studio film so far this year and candidate for The Best Comic-Book Movie Adaptation Ever."
