    Default Lost a coil today!

Well the infamous 99/00 coil pack problem bit me today at lunch.

I lost spark on 1 & 4, luckly I have a new coil pack at the house. I had been having an intermittant problem where the car would loose power for .5 second, but I couldnt narrow it down. I havent had it since the turbo install. Well its narrowed down.

I limped back to the office and will borrow a loaner car to get my coil pack after work. Lots of fun. At least I'm not stranded adding a tow bill on top.

I did get the Toluene for the track day.

Bummer Kags. Good thing you've already got your replacement! (Just curious, did you pull the code?)

Autozone did p0300 and an o2 code. I picked up an o2 sensor as well. My Auterra obdII reader is at the house... I hope I didnt jack up the Midpipe...

Isnt it a little late in the month for that April Fools nonsense?

Seriously , sorry to hear about it, you are a smart guy to have an extra.

I think I should get one too.
I have read that when this happens usually it does not happen again, indicating there is/was a problem with the building of the original equipment and they have fixed the problems on the coil packs you buy now.

Crossing fingers on that midpipe...but it would be a great excuse to get that 2.5 stainless one Goodwin has

Is this your first coil pack failure?

Damn Billy - I wish I had as much money burning a whole in my pocket as you do in yours. :P

I wouldn't worry about having a spare coilpack laying around. My '99 has gone 100k and 6.5 years on the original coilpack without a lick of trouble, and I'm certainly not worried. I don't think you should be either.
