Can I just prime and Krylon the little buggers?

Any special cleaning I should do before hand?

Spray on some Aircraft Remover before painting so that you remove some of the older paint... otherwise, the new stuff will just flake off with time.

You can pick up some Aircraft Remover at any auto parts joint. A little bit of prep will save you miles of headaches.

He doesn't have any aircraft to remove, just paint.

Does the Taliban know about Aircraft Remover? Man, I hope not...

Rough up the surface with 400 or 600 grit sandpaper, then prime and paint. Just make sure to wipe everything down carefully (alcohol, degreaser).

I just refinished the wheels on my girlfriend's TT. The previous owner curbed the hell out of the wheels, even the spokes. I sanded them down bondo'd all the curbing and scratches, sanded again, primed, painted, clear coated, and wet sanded. They almost look like new.
