Gentlemen maybe the SCCA is getting more better instructions like altiain.

Well, he does instruct at COTA more than he goes to his day job, so that makes sense.

Going to go just to see who is involved. Bob Neff (Texas Region RE) says it is being run by the national office and Heyward Wagner. He only got a contact to help get corner workers.

Would have thought the SCCA would have done a zip code search of member database and reached out to existing members for help. Guess that makes too much sense or takes too much effort.
No word on instructors or classroom sessions.

I thought COTA was his day job. He did move to Austin.

if I could figure out a way to make COTA my day job I would. Unfortunately it's not quite economically sustainable. Yet.

I haven't heard anything about instructing for the SCCA's headlight brigade demo derby either. Y'all have fun up there.

For the April & May Track bites, I'm doing Run/Work with assignment in Tech. Running my 1 session in Advanced group in my Vette.
I complained about the cheesy cartoon and "loose" lingo enough that I'm on a different email list (the one for old farts!).
You can refer to the Jan. and March 2015 SCCA Fastracks for some "behind the scenes" reporting. Sounds like an entry point for PDX/Club Trials.
I'm with you...can't say I liked the way it was launched. I'm willing to work my ass off to make it catch on.

I just saw that Lisa Noble, SCCA President and CEO, has registered for tomorrow night's event.

Well, Lisa didn't make it to the event. But, Randy Pobst did. He needed a car to drive, so I offered mine, and he accepted. And, I got to ride along. We did about half a session. It was not a coaching session, I just got to ride along. I think I still learned a lot. He helped reinforce what I all ready knew, my car is faster than I am. But, I will be faster next time out.

It will be several days before I get the grin off my face.

Good times. Very laid back. Kudos to SCCA for trying a different format. Alas, nobody died, nor did we crash our cars into the bunkers because of darkness. Oh well, there's always next month.

    Wasn't this a GREAT event?!!!
Neal and Doug worked in Tech and did amazing job, with PR skills and education tidbits promoting SCCA track time.

I may be in the Miata returned yesterday from Oklahoma State University.

I have a Hardtop but no roll-bar from what I see I can play. Is that correct?

I think that is correct. The event is for street cars; title, license, insurance. That's why nealb's car is not allowed.

If I understand the rules, I'm not eligible since my head is not below the Hard Dog bar, right? I did a foamectomy last weak, but it wasn't enough...not even close...

You'll be fine as long as you're not using a shoulder harness that would prevent your body from bending during a rollover.
