That's not much of a selling point. Purdy car, GLWS.

Yes, that's a fine car, and the price seems good. Too bad its SMG instead of 3-pedal, but for a street car I'm sure that's not a bad thing. I've certainly considered owning one for a DD and keeping a tricked-up old miata for autox/track.

Trade straight up for an 07 Cooper S? Kiddos need the legroom.

Like ken o, hmmm. If you are buying an M3 be prepared for surprise costs. But you can avoid some of them by asking the right questions.

Has the common e46 subframe issue been address?
Has the exhaust cam gear tab been checked?
When was the last valve adjustment?
How much play in the rear half shafts?
Does it have the original diff or have it been rebuilt?
Any noise from the vanos unit?
    M3 is always the answer.

How did you like the SMG? I was considering a M5 with SMG a while back but after several test drives just couldn't come to terms with it. From what I read there are magical setting combinations that make it quite nice, I just couldn't ever get there in the limited wheel time.

And the ultimate KenO question: does it have the midget tranny hooker-friendly "easy-wipe" interior?

Wiping up is too much work. Go for the easy tear-away liners. Plus they are great for kindling when you need to dispose of "things".
    M3 is always the answer.

It doesn't have the infamous clear plastic autox duck tail though.
