Default Tire Trailer for Miata to tow

I know this is pretty popular thing to do but I was wondering if there were any tips for making a tire trailer to tow behind the Miata. I figure most folks get the usual 40x49 Harbor Freight or Northern Tool trailer, bolt down a piece of plywood to it, put on some sort of dual tire tree and a storage box on the back. I also looked at the tilt up trailers that you can store upright since I plan on it taking up as little floor space when not in use. Most of those are either too big or kinda pricey for what I was going to use it for. Main thing is have at least one set of tires and a box with the usual spares to take along (hubs, rotors, pads, etc, etc). Was even wondering if could do a 4x100 conversion on the trailer as well to have an extra set of wheels plus not running the cheesy trailer tires either.
