    Default Homebuilt trailer registration (txDOT)

Once again, I'm stymied by www.dot.state.tx.us -- I guess it makes sense to whoever laid it all out.

I was trying to do some homework instead of walking in to the tax office blind. (If one of the desk jockeys tries to BS me I want to be able to call them on it. Yes, it's happened before.)

So, tire trailer guys, what do I do? Is there a form I need to fill out? Some affidavit that this trailer is not composed of shiny crack cocaine? Or can I just walk in with $(somemoney) and walk out with a plate?

I walked in with money, talked to them, and walked out with a plate.

Damn -- that's nearly half as much as I've spent on the trailer itself! But I guess I gotta be legal...
