Thread: I might be on Reality TV with the Miata!

Default I might be on Reality TV with the Miata!

I think I am pretty close to getting selected. If I am selected, I am going to need a few helpers to get the car road race prepped.

The show is a race format show with drivers getting taped getting their car ready and then having a race against 2 other drivers/cars.

Taping will be late November/Early December

Anybody interested in crewing (Mechanically inclined only please)?

Also, I am looking for a few sponsors so, If you are interested in sponsoring the car let me know.

Cool! I'd be up for crewing... I've done a lot of mechanical stuff on my Miatas over the years including replacing intakes, exhaust manifolds, heads, and the usual maintenance stuff.

How much are you looking for from sponsors? Would the sponsors get to put something in vinyl on your car?

Sponsorship is CHEAP! Tires for the race will pretty much get you the hood.

    Well,

I'd settle for any R Compounds. I Have a set of Victoracer V700s, but they are starting to get heat cycled out.

I am running 205/55/14s on the race rims (Wagon Wheels)

Hmmm... $600 for tires... plus the $$$ for the vinyl signage for the hood...

If you're in the show, I'm in for tires... www.arcadecomponents.com may be a little big across the hood, but what the heck...

I have no graphic design tools, so I won't even try to make it, but what about a graphic on the hood with a tilted IC that says www.arcadecomponents.com across the top and "When the chips are down" across the bottom of the chip.

Yeah, I don't have a logo for the site yet... and I'm not in too many search engines yet... still working on that.

It's still a pretty cool site if you are looking for parts for old systems... It goes along with the hobby of buying/fixing/selling old arcade systems and old school computers.

I saw the original pilot for that at the Magnolia last winter. Has a network picked it up? It wasnt bad, but it could have used some work. Hopefully with different people, it will be more interesting.

I agree. I thought the people they used were full of themselves. It might be appealling if they actually get some people that are not only interesting but likeable.

So do they need experienced track drivers?
I am interested, but all I have ever done is autocross.

    The letter didn't specify....
"We are still needing about 15 more people to be in the television being
filmed next month at MotorSport Ranch" is all it said about qualifications.
Then the letter goes on to say what will be required of you in time a couple of filming days at the track and a couple of hours at your home and or business.
Then there will be 13 episodes, the winners that advance through to the...
12th episode will race each other in the final 13th episode.

Yeah I had a tough time relating to people who have a full race prepped Viper that is fully supported by Bobby Archer's. That is what a reality show is all about, relating to the people on it.

Well, I can assure you. You can relate to me!

I'm in the show. I met with the producer and director yesterday.

The format is different that before adding a element of elimination racing and a final race. Shooting begins in 10 days with the preliminary races being shot in about three weeks.

Not sure if we are going to do Track A or Track B OR TRACK AB
