Thread: FI for NA with 99 motor

Default FI for NA with 99 motor

I just picked up a NB motor this morning, and I'm planning on using the 99 head with the bottom end from my 97 to build an FI engine. I still have not made up my mind which way to go, but now I'm wondering if I should be looking at kits for the NA or NB.

Flyin' Miata would probably be the best place to ask this question.

What are you going to do with the '99 bottom end?

It is going to temporarily replace the bottom end in my 97. It has been parked for the past couple of months because it started using 1/2 to 1 quart of oil a day for a few days. I'm going to have the NA block and crank worked over on the 97 engine and replace the pistons and rods. After that I really have not decided what to do with the NB bottom end.

Mind if I ask what you paid? I'm interested to know what 99-00 motors with a good crank go for.

    $570.94 after tax.

I found it at a smaller salvage yard, and convinced them that it was really a 94 model.

Go with the MP62 supercharger like Gary says....

I was very impressed with the FM2 that I almost bought earlier as well.

    Boost is good.
