    Ultrashield Race Products

They've got a Spec Miata seat and a "Fat"... er, I mean, "Big Boy" seat as well.

They're located out in Flint... about 115 or so miles south/east of Dallas. Anyone care to ride with me down there this week? I've absolutely got to test fit these seats.

I would think the key thing to look at is will the seat in question fit in the tight confines of Miata. It is kind of narrow as compared to a Camaro. :P

Have you thought about doing the foam-ectomy procedures to your seat? You might be surprised, especially with the side bolster improvement. Either that or eat a salad (3 bean) once in a while! :P

Have you seen the size of his ***? I was thinking the seat-ectomy was a good idea... Actually... I kinda liked it myself on the passenger side.

Ummm... I don't like the seat-ectomy that much... You gonna be driving the VW?

I did the seat foam-ectomy when I first got it... that's what allows me to sit under the windshield frame. I would really rather sit just a bit lower.

Did you modify the back and bottom of the seat?

A foamectomy will only do so much. I did a semi-radical faomectomy on my stock seat (almost an inch of height lost), and it still wasn't enough to get my helmeted head under the "broomstick line", or low enough to make me feel safe on the track.

Here's a pic of me on the track post-foamectomy in the stock seat (notice how far my helmet pokes up over the windshield frame):

Here's a pic after adding a Sparco Sprint racing seat:

    Big difference.

The spec 18" seat runs $199. For 50 more they're building me a custom seat. Something about how the trans tunnel bumps into the seat bottom. It should be nice! I hope they get done with it soon!

I am not going to be able to go down there. But I would love to hear how it works out. I am looking at Momo T-frames right now, but these look a little cheaper.
