Default OMG the curse never ends!

Well, after driving home with no problems just cruising, the damn tranny is stuck in gear when I tried to leave! With the car on or off I cannot get the shifter to go in any gears except 1 & 2. The car is in gear and will stall/jump if you release the clutch even with the shifter in neutral. I already have to replace the damn crank now this!

Anyone have a good recommendation for a tranny shop to have this one rebuilt? It has 218k miles on it and was a little worn when I got it so I was planning on a rebuild anyways...just not at this moment though.

Could it be a faulty slave cylinder?

The shift lever can not be moved into the position for 3rd, 4th, 5th, or reverse. 1st and 2nd gear may be selected, but the gearbox is "locked". Upon teardown, no broken or out-of-tolerance parts are found. So, what happens?

hmm...thanks for the link. I fly home in the morning so hopefully I can post up Monday night saying that was the problem. If it'll cost $100+ for that repair, it may be better to just pick a used one up, especially since mine was showing some wear anyways. Oh well, I'll find out tomorrow.

Thanks again POS for that article. That was the exact problem. So I'm good to go again! Now just have to permanently fix it soon so it doesn't happen again, in the mean time guess I'll keep a stubby flat blade and wrench in the car.
