Default SCCA National Tour - Walnut Ridge, AR 3/31-4/2

Link to official SCCA info site for the Walnut Ridge National Tour

Registration is now open! I'll be there for certain (I've got some vacation time I have to use up by 3/31). Still working out a possible co-driver arrangement. I'll be registered, as soon as the SCCA decides to email me my freakin' password.

Who else is going? I expect to see POS at least, since I distinctly recall him saying last season that the only thing that kept him from going to National events was the lack of a competitive car.

There should be a big C Stock contingent from Austin (including current National Champ Chris Williams) - let's see the same from DFW!

I'm going to Ft. Myers in Feb. I've got a co-drive in a STU Subaru with a former coworker in Orlando. Can't wait!

I'm not sure if I'll make the Ft. Walton tour.

Did you mean Walnut Ridge instead of Ft. Walton or are they the same thing?

    Err... oops.

Edited my original post because I can't remember where I'm going.

Yes. There's a frappr map out there somewhere with the locations of all of this year's Tours, but I can't find it at the moment.

    Edit: Found the map

OK, I'm officially registered. lugnutjon is 95% confirmed as my co-driver.

Although I am not a member of TCB, nor am I a Miata driver, I am planning to be there with the Yellow Escort. I am retiring at the end of May and need to use up 15 days of personal business leave.

Would my building my own tire tail for about $15 put me in the running for TCB?

Maybe. It will definitely put you in the running for "top ten vehicles I wouldn't drive behind on the freeway".

I just designed, gathered and cut the material. A friend that builds race car chassis to NHRA specs will do the welding. A man's got to know his limitations.

Just stay close, maybe they will bounce over you.

Show us the FEA. You designed it, right? (If I didn't ask, I'm sure Altiain would've)

Only if it makes it just shy of Fulton, Ark before it falls off the car!

I'm thinking about going, but that is my Birthday weekend!

Hilton.com isn't showing anything available in Walnut Ridge, Ark??

Mine too - getting to go is my b-day present to me.

I don't think an "official" hotel has been designated yet. I figure once that info has been released then I'll book a room.

The closest hotel is an easy 30 minutes away.

I'll be there, hopefully campaigning the Evo. Anyone going back for the Pro?

Edit: Doug, are you picking up some V710's for the ZX2?

Are you? Driving to NE AR two weekends in a row doesn't fit my schedule. The only Pro I'll make this season will be the Mineral Wells one.

Yes. I have already picked up another set of wheels. I plan to order the V710's next week from Tire Rack.

FEA? Do you mean the back of the envelope I used under that dim light back there in the corner booth?

The tire tail is a really simple design and probably way over-engineered, so if it remotely looks like the one that's sold I'm sure it's pretty safe.

I would be up for a co-drive. If anybody has a seat.
