If you are refering to the NHL, it's because team owners and coaches don't want to have their multi-million dollar players unable to play due to an injury in a fight.

The NHL prior to the 80s was a different game. No helmets and lots of fights. I recall one fight that carried over into the stands!

There still is some good fighting in the minor leagues though. The Texas Tornadoes in Frisco can get a little wild at times. They are far less disciplined than the pros.

Hell yeah! I actually started a team fight in high school! Not sure why...I only defened against this one guy by body slamming him then everyone just went freakin nuts like this video!

Well hell yeah the refs are backing up for that craziness! We're there to break it up after thier done or if one guy is down.

Not sure where to download them, but there are some great one on one NHL fights! I think the longest one on one NHL fight lasted a tad over 2 min and both guys were landing all their punches! Best one I saw live was Todd Simpson and Stu Grimson. They squared up and Grimson took one swing and knocked Simpson out cold then he skated right of the ice!
