reverse lights

My reverse lights isn't workin'..... I noticed that dumb kid I bought my car from used electrical putty to slice the wires to the sensor. Has anyone ever changed this sensor? Does it come pre-wired or will I need to solder it?

The reverse-light switch (in the tranny tunnel somewhere IIRC) goes out on the NA's all the time. Search miata.net and I'm sure you'll find it documented. I lived without them on my '92. (You don't need them to pass inspection BTW)

I lived without mine for a year or so, but I got tired of SUV drivers trying to run me over when backing out of parking spaces. I didn't replace the switch myself (had it done when my clutch was being replaced), but it looked plug and play to me.

that silly putty is on mine too, dotn feel so bad, its normal. on wire fell out. if i recall correctly, its on rspeed for like $35.... i just have so many things to do before that...
