Yep, I remember Monkey Wards... I think a lot of fringe malls went under when they shut their doors. How about Gemco? Anyone remember them? Did you guys even have Gemco in this part of the country?

A little searching shows it to be a California chain. It was the first big box store I ever saw... It was something like an upscale Walmart with a little Sears/Wards mixed in. It was membership, and it had a grocery store inside of it. Our local one became Target, and I can't say it really changed it much.
