T1R- better in the rain, softer ride, quieter ride
    615- more grip, better turn-in

So, do you want a nice ride with decent grip, or do you prefer balls to the wall?

Yea what he said but insert in RS2s where he has 615.

Have the T1R on our '02 they are nice riding tires, but just don't seem as sporty as the RS2 it had on it before. Wife says she just don't like the feel of them as compared to the RS2.

I run the RS2 on the POSIII and really like them!

But what do you want in tire???

I haven't seen a really good comparison of the RS2 to the 615.

Road and Track just had an article comparing tires for the MX-5. Sadly, neither of the above were tested/mentioned.

I guess the balls to the wall as titus put it. Just saw them on edgeracing.com and didn't know about them. I was interested due to coming in a 205/45/15 instead of 205/50

I'll tell you what... You bring a car with 15" RS2s on them to the first S2K of '07 and we can swap wheels at lunch.

If you want balls to the wall, the T1R is out and that is the only one that comes in 205/45/15.

No! I want the answer by Monday December 4, 2006 ya slacker!

But I guess we could try your way also.

I would say that the RS-2 has performance that is close to the performance of the RT-615 but with better ride quality and wet performance. I've been happy with the RS-2 for my street tire autocrossing.

The T1-R has some great (shorter) sizes, but I think the performance would be a let down after driving on the RS-2 or RT-615.

Bump Revival, I need to get new tires and was thinking of the RS-2, after loosing it and knowing that my current tires are shot, I think this would be a good time to get some new tires. Thoughts, At this point I am thinking the rs2 or the t1r. 205/40/17

R-S2s and T1Rs will not help you next time it gets cold. They're summer tires and don't like the cold weather.

Since you put so many miles on the car and not a ton of time on the track, I'd look into the T1Rs. I've also heard good things about the Goodyear GS-D3. My favorite daily driver tire I've driven on was the P-Zero Nero.

Did some looking into the P-zero's and they look good, how would they handle a few track days? say 1 at MSR and 1 at Hallet?

Nothing is going to make a car better on ice, other than studded tires.

Get some Blizzaks... then you have a built in excuse when TtT beats you on the track!

    Been there...done that

I am having fun on my 15'' RT-615's. A grippier tire than the Kooks on my other wheels.

P-Zeros are teh SUCK. Buy my black rims and keep some all seasons on them.
Maybe 4 wheels aren't so bad after all... wickett.org

I got 15k street miles and 60 autocross runs on the P-Zeros on my M3. I was running the summer version, but they have a all season version (M&S) that has a higher treadware rating.

TC, did you have a bad experience with Pirellis?
