    Default Merv 4x4 miata

Here's what I have in mind. I believe this to be a photo shop job, but it gives you the idea. Smaller tires for sure too!

Would not want to be in either in a. Shoot the axles weigh twice what the rest of the car weighs. You would be a pancake by the time it was finished.

Needs a roll cage but I'd think all the weight below the door sills = low center of gravity. Wouln't that be an advantage?

I can't see it being much different than a gutted out CJ.

Low center of gravity is a plus but the difference is that on the CJ the sheet metal actually has structural integrity. It wont dent just by breathing on it.

I guess before I pass judgement I need to see how the suspension was buitl and how they did the subframe to support all the components.

I wouldn't mind driving over cars in rush hour instead of just sitting there
    Blah blah blah!

If I built it, I bet I could get Merv to make me a safe cage, as long as I let him borrow it from time to time. This something I'd really like to do.

At an All 4 fun event in 79' a guy showed up with an Austin Healey using a 350 and Scout running gear. It has super wide tires for the trail, I have a pic to prove it. Guess it's time to get it scanned so I can show it.

There is a guy in OKlahome with a late 60's Camaro 4x4. I beleive he used a scout frame and running gear on it.

There's a late 80's Olds Achieva in Denton using a Bronco running gear. It looks very goofy, the body just sits on posts welded to the frame.
