    Default Three rotor goodness

CHeck out this little clip: Click me

Those are the two Speedsource built, R20b powered (peripheral ported, normally aspirated, three rotor engines), carbon-fiber bodied RX-8s going past at Daytona yesterday. What a beautiful sound.

Lycoming, back in the late 80's, was looking at making an aircraft engine with a three rotor wankle design. Their target airplane was for crop dusters and small commuter airplanes, to reduce the cost over turboprops.

    Those engines sound sweet though.
