Thread: Nardi wood shift knob restoration

Default Nardi wood shift knob restoration

Just got a newer Nardi wood shift for my '92 C out of a '93 LE which is almost perfect. I can see that it was restored at some time but it looks great. I want to refinish the old one. I have it sanded down and was wondering how Nardi gets a knob and E-brake handle to look so yellow when the wood is walnut? I know that just putting on shellac or polyurethane would just darken the wood. Any suggestions before I mess this up?

I was just poking around and I found this place. Might be worth a shot. They might be able to give you some pointers. Wood's wood, right?

Cool, I've been doing the same thing to the stock knob from my car. Not that I'm ever going to use it though...
