    Default Good and Bad News

Well I took my car tonight to tune for a drag event in Shreveport. The good news is that my car made more torque than any other Miata ive herd of. It made 500 ft tq. The bad news is that I dont know how much hp the car made because I pushed the head gasket on the same pull before my peak rpm to make power. We are guessing that it would have made about 530 at that boost level. I am going to have to have my block ring bored for some pressed in brass head gaskets. It never ends....

So the old saying, "it made the most power it ever has just before it blew up" is true again?

500 ft.lbs. of torque!!! Very impressive.

Good luck with the repairs. BTW, are you still running a stock tranny?

Not impressed. My Cummins pulls....errrr....pushes about 1200 lb/ft, but then it has to. The RV loaded and two cars in the trailer weighs in at 42,000 lbs!

OK, OK, 500 lb/ft out of less than two liters is amazing!
