    That's back in the good old days of rally. Group B - look it up.
    The cars were not limited by, well, rules. I remember hearing an interview from those years. The driver, he spoke English so there is nothing lost in translation, was asked how they can drive by people so close to the track. He replied, "We pretend they are bushes..... And that they hopefully move out of the way quickly enough."


    Group B is where cars like this lived

    Man, that footwork was amazing! Walter Röhrl is one of the most amazing drivers ever to take to the track, imho. You think Schumi could've made the pedals dance like that?

    Very impressive. Thought it might be older vid as to how he was double, triple, and just pumping the heck out of his clutch. Great footwork.

    As for all the spectators. Man, I'd still rather take my take my chances with the running of the bulls.

    That pumping of the clutch is referred as a "clutch kick" in drifting, and since all drifting moves were taken from rally it creates the same effect.
